Y-3 Presents: Spring/Summer 2023 Chapter 1

In 2022 Y-3 boldly celebrated 20 years of memories – recoding key moments from the past two decades of the industry defining partnership between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto . This season , the progressive brand triumphantly returns to kick off the beginning of a new era, reimagining its foundations in order to fearlessly look ahead tomorrow. For the first chapter of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, Y-3 explores the concept of “Artisan Codes of Sport” disrupting elegance with a series of daring garments, footwear, and accessories.

Continuing a lineage of renegade dynamism, Y-3 Spring/Summer 2023 Chapter 1 reinterprets the quintessential visual codes of team sports to celebrate a multifaceted design vision. Drawing on adidas’ athletic heritage, the apparel and accessories range boasts letterman jackets, track pants, cargo pants, shirts, cardigans, caps, and beyond – all featuring brushstroke Y-3 logo graphics which subvert sporting codes through the lens of artisanal handicraft. In addition, a selection of tailored, elegant, silhouettes, brings the collection full circle – blending adidas’ sporting heritage with Yohji’s avant-garde legacy.

The footwear selection is then home to a curated selection of silhouettes which reinterpret the sporting codes of classic adidas franchises through Y-3’s uncompromisingly rebellious lens. Paying homage to the Japanese technique of Sashiko stitching, the Y-3 SUPERSTAR, the Y-3 HICHO, the Y-3 MARATHON TR, and the Y-3 GAZELLE, each feature accentuated tonal stitching – all threads intentionally hanging loosely. Further sneaker highlights include the Y-3 RIVALRY, and the futuristic Y-3 RUNNER 4D HALO.

Accompanying the launch of Spring/Summer 2023 Chapter 1 is a campaign that celebrates the roots and origins of Y-3 . Shot by Jiro Konami and Emily Okuda-Overhoff, the campaign is set within Japan for the first time in the brand’s history – offering evocative nods to the country’s rich legacy of street style photography. Journeying from day to night through various locations across Tokyo, the cast of models, each embodying Yohji’s rebellious spirit, is captured candidly in between a fluid set of dynamic movements, which pay homage to the visceral Japanese dance form of Butoh.

Subversively looking ahead to a new era of elevated design and avant-garde aestheticism, Y-3’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection is available from January 13th 2023 on adidas.com/y-3, in Y-3 stores, and through select global retailers.

Chanel Spring-Summer 2023 Haute Couture Collection

The starting point of the Spring-Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection is Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31, rue Cambon. It is the place where Virginie Viard took Xavier Veilhan at the very beginning of their work, and which includes a collection of objects, sculptures, drawings representing lions, does, stags, birds and camels. “For his third participation, I asked him to reinterpret the apartment’s bestiary and incorporate his own,” she says. “The whole embroidery universe of the collection is turned towards the animal world.”

Embroidered on short tweed suits and coat dresses, kittens, corgis, rabbits and swallows share the limelight with the does, stags or camellias emblematic of the House.
As if on a village square, a festive parade is being prepared and sets off. Eleven monumental animals made of wood, cardboard and paper created by Xavier Veilhan hide models, and then open to let them escape. “I like it when the marvellous bursts forth and the course of events is interrupted,” she continues.

The CHANEL suit borrows its codes from the female uniforms of parades and spectacles. Top hat, bow tie, white gloves, laced boots, satin cape, pleated skirt, jackets double-breasted or with tails, tuxedo shirt, sequins, short shorts, petticoats: it is in the poetry of majorettes that Virginie Viard also finds her inspiration.

Dresses and jumpsuits all in lightness and refinement, superpositions, transparencies, flounces, pleats, fine straps and repainted laces, are crafted in silk tulle, taffeta, organza, georgette crepe and chantilly lace.

And as in every beautiful story, the Spring-Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection, with its fairy parade, closes with the bride in a dress embroidered with swallows.§

Stella Mccartney Hosts Legendary L.A Party to Honour adidas Collaboration and Present Its Spring / Summer 23 Collection

Stella McCartney hosted a legendary party in L.A in celebration of her 18 year partnership with adidas and to present its new Spring/Summer 23 collection. Kicking off the biggest weekend in music, the unique collaboration took over LA’s famous Henson Recording Studios for an iconic evening that brought together music and fashion.

Paying homage to Stella’s love of and deep heritage in music, the party, a first of its kind for adidas by Stella McCartney , featured a DJ performance by Zuri Marley and live performances from Koffee, Minke, MUNA, and Beth Ditto alongside a celebration of movement through an immersive roller-skating piece by L.A Roller Girls – presenting the vibrant Spring Summer 23 adidas by Stella McCartney  drop in beautiful motion.

TRUENATURE: Designed for exploring the world outside, the collection captures a contemporary take on Earth and weather satellite images alongside conceptual contours and ley lines of maps. With leading technologies such as Parley Ocean Plastic and WIND.RDY, the collection has been crafted to protect the next generation of active activists.

The TRUENATURE collection is available from 16th Feb on adidas by Stella McCartney and via the adidas app.

Fashion Vibes, mercoledì 23 febbraio al Circolo Filologico Milanese, durante l’edizione FW2023 della Settimana della Moda a Milano, propone il progetto Inside Show Backstage, un viaggio nel mondo dell’artigianato couture e dell’handmade di lusso, in un modo tutto particolare…

Sette i brand provenienti da tutto il mondo che sfileranno in passerella. SAVALME, marchio fondato da Albina Sallum, dopo il successo alla Fashion Week di Dubai arriva a Milano con i suoi costumi da bagno realizzati con le più moderne tecnologie in supplex coreano di alta qualità e decorati con dettagli realizzati interamente a mano. NAZ MAER, anche lui dopo Dubai, porta con sé tutto lo sfavillante e lussuoso universo di abiti da sera unici e irripetibili, da red carpet. Dal Messico, il brand INDIRA&ISIDRO espone nella capitale della moda italiana una collezione di gioielli in pietre preziose che rievoca la ricchezza delle antiche civiltà del Centro America e borse realizzate in pelle esotica. Dal Ghana arriva Usman Habibu con il suo brand GARY PIE e la sua alta moda, sia maschile sia femminile, che si presenta come simbolo del lusso made in Africa. SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN, direttamente da Hong Kong, porta in Italia tradizionali abiti cinesi rivisitati in un’ottica di street fashion e innovazione, dalla palette sgargiante. Infine, un esempio di eleganza proveniente dall’Australia sarà rappresentato dalla moda classica e minimale dei modelli DIANA KLISARIS, portavoce di uno stile raffinato per donne potenti e emancipate.

La componente scenografica e totalmente innovativa dello spettacolo Inside Show Backstage – che si terrà il 23 febbraio a un passo dal Teatro La Scala, nello splendido Circolo Filologico Milanese – sarà lo sviluppo dello show in 2 fasi: dalle ore 17.00 sarà aperta l’ART ROOM, uno spazio dove ospiti, buyer, rappresentanti dei media e influencer potranno osservare alcuni pezzi delle nuove collezioni dei designer, ammirandone il lavoro da vicino e sorseggiando un calice di bollicine italiane; alle ore 18.00, invece, avrà inizio la sfilata, un’esposizione dinamica, la celebrazione del duro lavoro di chi opera dietro le quinte e momento più importante della serata.
