Collina Strada SS21 ‘Change Is Cute’

This digital show was made amongst a community of creatives. In this moment of global precarity, the importance of solidarity has never been clearer; in the absence of systems that can hold us, we are forced to hold ourselves. We brought together a network of collaborators—longtime co-conspirators and new friends alike—to construct a new virtual world of inclusiveness and joy. Using floral illustrations from Sean-Kierre Lyons, whose “By Any Means Necessary” series intertwines Black folklore minstrel and personal experiences, and the multimedia work of Alicia Mersy, an artist who specializes in political resistance video, Taymour has created a digital fashion experience rooted in her core values of social activism. Models are seen in a utopian virtual world of tie-dyed cornfields, sprouting carrots, floating gardens and a Collina-print rainbow waterfall. Spring Summer 2021 will be a series of looks reworked from classic Collina styles in fresh prints and sustainable fabrics.
